Kichijoji
The one I’m in a couple of times a week, and the easiest sell out here: park, shopping streets, and tiny-bar alleys all in one walk.

The Kichijoji route
Inokashira Park & Benzaiten Shrine → Sun Road arcade → Harmonica Yokocho after dark
The spots on the route
Inokashira Park
The green half of the Kichijoji walk — the park the route starts in, and the easiest place in the neighborhood to slow down.
Benzaiten Shrine
The shrine inside Inokashira Park — paired with the park as the first stop on the route.
Sun Road
The covered shopping arcade — everyday Kichijoji, with the park at one end and the station at the other.
Harmonica Yokocho
The tiny-bar alleys: small bars packed into narrow lanes by the station. This is the after-dark end of the route — and the photo on the card.
Field notes
Notes by Jenner, from places I have actually been. More notes are on the way — the full guide is coming soon.
Harmonica Yokocho after dark — tiny bars, pick one and squeeze in.
Sun Road and the shopping streets — everything in one walk.
Inokashira Park and Benzaiten Shrine.
You don’t need a packed itinerary here. Pick a lane and walk.
Five stops from Shinjuku is just the start.
When you’re ready to get out of the city, get the free “5 Weekend Road Trips from Tokyo” mini-guide: Hakone, Kawaguchiko, Karuizawa, Nikko, and Izu in one short PDF — how to get there, who each trip suits, a one-day outline, a stay pick, and the mistake everyone makes.
Your guide lands in your inbox, and I’ll write when there’s a new guide or trip note worth sharing.
