What it is
The east coast runs Ito to Shimoda — Jogasaki's lava cliffs, Mt. Omuro's grass cone, and more seaside ryokan than you can soak in one weekend.
The one-day outline
Down the east coast with stops — cliffs and a coastal walk, seafood lunch, a night in an onsen town, the long way home via the west coast if the weather's good.
